The DPP will be introduced step by step. Requirements are specified per product group through delegated acts.
What is typically required
- Technical performance characteristics
- Materials and origin
- Repair and maintenance information
- Recyclability and recycled content
- Lifecycle environmental impacts / PCF
Who is responsible?
The party placing the product on the market is responsible (manufacturer or EU importer). The passport must be available according to the applicable legal act.
Timeline (orientation)
- from 2027: first mandatory product groups (for example batteries)
- 2027–2030: stepwise introduction of additional product groups
- by 2030: several product groups with DPP obligations, depending on the working plan and delegated acts
Note: concrete data fields and access rights vary by product group.

The DPP becomes the common language between manufacturers, supply chain, service, trade and end-of-life actors.
